Adding Indents To Paragraphs (9 posts)

Edit: The forums are removing indentation as well, so using
pre tag for why it looks funky.

I'm trying to run an article based website and am trying to find a way to indent the individual paragraphs.

    For example:

The quick brown fox jumped over the sly dumb yellow lazy dog.f point. Randomly typing to give an appearance.
When the world turns over you will all live.
Ref point for what isn't indented

    Turns into:

The quick brown fox jumped over the sly dumb yellow lazy dog. Randomly typing to give an appearance.
When the world turns over you will all live.
Ref point for what isn't indented

I've tried text-indent:12px; in the CSS and it only indents if I do something like this except when I add a space it will indent again.

    Example:

The quick brown fox jumped over the sly dumb yellow lazy dog. Randomly typing to give an appearance.
When the world turns over you will all live.

Then the people enjoyed a free time.

Any tips, suggestions, help? Sorry for changing to so much, needed to get the appearance right (Changes taken place in first 10 mins of posting this)

This is really a CSS issue. Try a dedicated CSS resource such as http://www.css-discuss.org/

Any other CSS sites that would be helpful?

I need to use hanging indents but cannot discover how to make an entry indent correctly. Various people have indicated an HTML code but they either don't work for me or I don't know where to put the code. Please give me a simple and complete answer.

Here is an entry that I would like done in a hanging indent; i. e. lines after first to be indented.

Graybill, Mark S. "Hypermasculinity and Sport in James Dickey's Deliverance." Upon Further Review: Sports in American Literature. Ed. Michael Cocchiarale and Scott D. Emmert. Westport, CT: Praeger, 2004. 121-30. MLA International Bibliography. Web.26 Feb. 2012.

Yes, thank you. I have read and read and being a beginner on WordPress, I still don't know how to apply the suggestions. e. g. should I go to:

Twenty Ten: Visual Editor Stylesheet (editor-style.css) and add a code?

I need to know HOW to do it? Please help and thank you. I am trying diligently to get my entries of literary works in correct MLA order.

I see this message below this dialogue box: Allowed markup: a blockquote code em strong ul ol li.
Put code in between backticks. Does this mean I should use this code and if so, where do I put it?

First you need to create a child theme.

Wish I knew how to do that! Is there a location on WordPress where instructions for hanging indents are given from step 1?

    This isn't a WordPress-specific issue. It's a general CSS one.
