Is it possible to add images and/or logos to the Header in Theme 2012? If so, how do I go about it?

have you tried:
dashboard - appearance - header
if you need to do something else,
instead of making edits directly to Twenty Twelve, create a child theme first, to work with; http://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes
