  • is this slideshow something you created yourself in Adobe’s Flash? if it’s is just a slideshow that you want display in WordPress and control from the backend there are numerous plug-ins which help you to do this, take a look at NextGen Gallery plug-in and the JW player slideshow. Sometimes you need to look at the plugin developers websites to find more information on how to add into a template. Most come with easy-to-use widgets you can place in the sidebar.

Can u advise me on what 2 do. yo help will be appreciated.

I need to know what level of knowledge you have with WordPress and web development, are you completely new to the subject?
Have you done any template modifications before?

If you can also provide a URL to the site / template this may help.

It should be a simple case of opening header.php file and adding the flash embed code.

this is my first wordpress website that i am building. I generated this template using a Artisteer template builder. Im busy learning to be a php developer.

This is the url my site
    http://blog.solidrock.org.za

You need to manually edit the template. if you want to add a SWF file into the header, first you need to upload it to your web server and then you need to edit the header.php file add the code where you want it to appear.

Personally I wouldn’t use flash for a slideshow, the right way to do it would be to use something like Jquery. If I were you, I would spend a bit more time exploring the plug-ins library to see if there’s something more suitable for what you’re trying to achieve, or if you have any budget it may be worth buying a professional theme from somewhere like themeforest.net

    good luck
