Adding comment bubbles to Twenty Eleven single post pages (4 posts)

    I'm using Twenty Eleven 1.3 along with a child theme for customizations to the CSS.

    I'm trying to figure out how to add the comment bubble to single post pages. The comment bubble appears everywhere else *except* on single post pages.

    For example, here it appears:
    http://janefriedman.com/blog-archive/

    Here it does not appear:
    http://janefriedman.com/2011/12/13/social-media-change-life/

    I believe making the comment bubble appear involves adding comments-link but I'm not sure exactly where/which file, and if that's all that's needed?

    Thanks so much,
    Jane

    try to locate the code in content.php and copy it into content-single.php (untested)

    That worked!

    I picked up this code and placed it in the entry-header before entry-content

    <?php if ( comments_open() && ! post_password_required() ) : ?>
    			<div class="comments-link">
    				<?php comments_popup_link( '<span class="leave-reply">' . __( 'Reply', 'twentyeleven' ) . '</span>', _x( '1', 'comments number', 'twentyeleven' ), _x( '%', 'comments number', 'twentyeleven' ) ); ?>
    			</div>
    			<?php endif; ?>

    Okay, that's weird. Because if I do exactly that -- copy that code from content into content-single, at exactly that location in the HTML, it renders the bubble way the hell above not only entry-content, but way above entry-header as well. (I can't link the example at the moment because the site is behind a "coming soon" barrier.)
