Adding Category Makes Site Go Blank (11 posts)

When I add a new category my Site goes blank. Once I delete the new category, the Site goes back to normal.

How do I add a category without turning my Site into a blank page?

    Thanks.

i have same problem. but now i can´t add any category. the category-site is alway blank.
i don´t know why, but i think it´s a mysql problem. i checked wp 2.1 on many servers and this problem is only on server with mysql 4.1.10a

I am on 4.1.20, so I hope there is a resolution. If not, I hate to say it, but I won't be able to use WordPress. And I love WP.

    Thanks.

    hmm
    PHP 4.4.0 - MySql 4.1.13 ok
    PHP 4.3.4 - MySql 4.0.18 ok
    PHP 4.3.3 - MySql 4.0.15 ok

    PHP 4.3.10 - MySql 4.1.10a sucks

I have a work around. Write and article and add the category from the input page. This worked. I still have to edit out the uncategorized category, but this works.

I do with it would work the same way it worked with the last version of WordPress, but this is cool.

    Thanks all.

I am not marking this resolved as this is just a work around and I am still looking for a real fix.

    Thanks.

Ask your host to increase the php memory from 8M to 16M.

I believe I already have 32M, but I will try. Thank you. I really hope it works.

Work around for the failed work around would be not to delete the category. Just delete the articles or switch them to another category. At least, for me, this seems to be a good alternative at this time.

You may be able to go into SQL and delete the category that way with no problems. I do that with some other things. I would set up new categories this way, but I don't know how. I can just delete.

I made a request for the 16M and we will see if this works.

    Thanks again.
