Adding alphabetical indexing to long author list page (4 posts)

    Hey there,
On my testing installation I have a page that lists all the blogs authors (well, they will be contributors):
    http://www.werebunny.com/aa/?page_id=5

Now, I can see that this list could get pretty long if people are interested in the site - not good for sanity or load times.

Is there a way to generate an alphabetical index? So there would be a row of letters at the top and the user can click on a letter and it will go to page showing all the authors whose name begins with 'J' or whatever.

I've currently got this setup on a single page so that's what has me stumped. Here's the source code i'm using btw (a page template): http://pastebin.com/f7e6ba7a0

BTW, this has moved here: http://www.abletonartists.com/artists/

Even just a page listing, much like how the front page of WP will only show 10 posts (or whatever) and you have Next page, Previous page links. Although alphabetical would be better.

Say Doodlebug, I'm trying to figure out how to make a page in my template that displays a list of the contributors to my blog. It would be greatly similar to your list of Artists on the site you posted here. Nice job on that by the way. Mostly I need to how where in my directory structure to place the php script and how to connect it by script to my wordpress theme?

    Your help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Dan

So is it possible to make the a-z author index, or not? I've looked for a plugin but couldn't find anything :-(

Thank you very much for any help,

    Asys
