• For some reason, I’m not able to add adsense to my blogs; whenever I write a post, I include the adsense code, but for some reason it doesn’t show up when I post it. Also, I’m not able to add adsense to the pages themselves such as the index.php, because it says they are not writeable.

I assume this is because I don’t have permission to access this; I’m just wondering why. I’m getting WordPress through my web hosting company, so I’m not sure if that makes a difference as far as giving me permission to add to the code.

I’m just really lost as far as adding adsense, so if anybody knows how I can adsense to my blog, I’d really appreciate it.

  • If you turn off the wysiwyg editor and use the basic one for the adsense code, it should work.

To edit files in the theme editor, the file being edited must have chmod (permissions) of 666. You can achieve this with an FTP client.
Do not leave files at 666 – change back to 644 when done editing.

Also – look at the plug ins. There’s a great adsense module called mightyadsense. I use that.
