   Can anyone help me add a field that allows my followers to subscribe to getting an automatic email that alerts them when I submit a new post?

   I can't find a plugin that does exactly this.

   I'd like them to receive an email about a new post. They can then click on a link in the email that will take them directly to my blog and the new post.

   Surely this has been done??!

   Try creating a Feedburner account and using a Feedburner plugin.
