[resolved] Adding a new category in menu that is a blog (4 posts)

I'm seriously thinking of starting a regular blog carnival. I don't want it getting lost amongst my daily blogposts and while I know people could call up the category to view, I'd much rather have it showing as a menu item. I'm using a Genesis theme.

Is there a way to create a blog category that can show as a separate menu item, like it was a separate page?

If your theme uses standard techniques you do the following:

    • Create your categories
    • Create at least one post per category
    • In Dashboard --> Appearance --> Menus, access your custom menu and scroll down so you can see the categories in the panel at bottom left and add the categories to the menu in the normal way

Make sure you categorise your posts as required.

If you have a general blog, all your categorised posts will also show up in that blog (as well as in the category list). If you don't want that, you can turn your normal blog into another category list, but I don't think you can do this for your front page. If anyone knows how to do it for the front page, I'd be glad to hear how it's done.

    Cheers

Thanks, I hadn't realised that blog categories could be added to the menu. That makes it very easy. Thank you.
