Please point me in a direction (Yes, I am new!).

So far each of my pages is empty( but I have a header on each page).
    Got that far!

Now, and I just need to be pointed in a direction …. What I would now normally do (in Dreamweaver) would be to say, would be to use html & CSS to create a div with say, a border, some text and an image.

My question is…. can I actually do this and manually create this div while still having the editing ability that WP provides for the user?
Or do I need to actually create the page layout with the WP tools?
Thank you for your patience with me! Buffmin

  • First up, have you read the basics?

    http://codex.wordpress.org/Main_Page

It would be best to at least read some of the getting started docs about WP to make sure you have a grasp of how it all works.

You can write in your own divs, but it’s not normally necessary, or needed, unless you are donig something specialized. Different themes behave differently when displaying your content, so you’d want to find one suited to your needs of course…
