I’m running a soccer team website and I’m allowing comments on the news (posts). All comments are moderated. Everybody who registers is a “Subscriber” with default access only to read.
MY TARGET: What I want is to change some of the users to comment moderators – giving them additional access to moderate all pending comments, nothing else.
THE PROBLEM: The first role that allow comment moderation is “Editor” and it allows Page & Post creation/editing/deleting. I want comment moderators to have access ONLY to the pending comments, nothing else.
WHAT I TRIED: I used plugins like “Capabilities Manager” and “Role Manager” to create new Role with access to “Read” and “Moderate Comments” but it’s not working because users don’t have access to “Edit Posts”, “Delete Posts”, “Edit Others Posts”, “Edit Published Posts”.
So I need help here. Please advise me how to allow some Subscribers to moderate all pending comments? Or how to create a role with access only to read and moderate all pending comments?
