Adding a blog to an existing wordpress site (3 posts)

I've been searching the forums for over a week now and I can't figure this out.

I was asked to add blog functionality to an existing wordpress site. There is not a "My blogs" option anywhere in the dashboard.

I have a /blog page, and I went to settings>reading> and set it to that page. Every time I make a new post it creates a new page like /?p=140 and can't be found anywhere from the site.

All I want to do is have a blog to post things on the /blog page and be able to have people comment etc. How can I do this?

I even went through and created a brand new wordpress site/blog and integrated it into my current dashboard but all it did was post this (below) on a /?p=1 page. There is no single page with all the posts it, or a place for anyone to comment or any other normal blog stuff. Could someone please help me figure this out. I'll tear the whole thing down and start over if that's what needs to happen. Thank you.

    Refer to this first: http://codex.wordpress.org/Creating_a_Static_Front_Page

Is this the scenario you already got? I.e. a WordPress website which looks like a website and you need to add the blog?

If then follow that article and you should be good to go.

Yes it is, thanks. I'm pretty sure I did this already but I'll try it again. I didn't originally create the site or the template.
