• I just added my first widget (random quotes), and after going to Design->Widgets and adding it to my sidebar, my Links/Blogroll stopped displaying on my blog.

To clarify, I have added Links to my sidebar on Design->Widgets, and all of my Links are “visible” on Manage->Links; however, the box does not display on my blog.

Any help is very much appreciated! Thanks!

  • That is normal behavior you can drag the links widget back in, by default wordpress shows a default set of widgets however by adding a custom one it turns off all the others, so you now need to manually put them back in, i.e Meta, Pages and Links

Thanks for your help! However, I have already tried adding my Links back in manually and it is still not showing up. I have taken it out and put it back in again (to “refresh”) and whatnot, and it is still not appearing. All of the other ones I have put back in (like “categories”, etc.) are appearing fine; the problem appears only with the Links.

Any more help would be appreciated! Thanks!

I Agree with jpellowe. i too have a similar issue and I haven’t been able to get my blogroll working. Appreciate any help to get this resolved.

Well, I found what the issue was with my blog. I had a separate links.php in my new theme that was not coming up on sidebar. It is configured to appear as a separate page on my blog.

This is the same thing happening to my blog http://www.bbeesoft.com right now. It just suddenly wont display at my blog.

    How to fix this please…

If it helps, I have the same problem and noticed it matters whether or not you are logged in as administrator. I want everyone to see the links, not just me! I have them set as visible, not hidden, and I even toggled it a few times and tried different browsers, and refreshing the cache. The problem is not just with the blogrolls, it also appeared for me with some other widgets. Over time, the problem corrected itself on my other website’s blog. Both are running version 2.6.2, hosted by Yahoo’s small business web hosting. It is aggravating that it seems to have no rhyme or reason. Why after doing it so many times it worked on one site (after many retries of the same thing), and on the other site it is not giving in at all. Why so stubborn?
