   I don't think I ever commented out anything that has to do with categories in my default theme's code. However when I added a new category as admin it still says two: uncategorized and blogroll

   Thanks again Moshu.

   For everyone else, the answer to the above issue is that for many themes especially if you are modifying the default theme you need to insert a post into your new category or it won't show up.
