[closed] Add warning to indicate that action is required when setting up a static page (3 posts)

  1. When users go to Settings > Reading and choose the radio button "A static page" (select below),

those two last words select below don't seem to stand out enough.

I've seen many support request saying that their home page doesn't work.

Could we have some sort of trigger when that radio button is selected that would display a message or a warning or prevent them to hit save until they've selected a page for the drop down?

Or if that's not possible, the first page in the drop down is selected for them?

There's a ticket for better UI for page on front, which I think this would fall under. http://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/16379

  3. You're right.. thanks for pointing that out.
I should have searched a wee bit more.

    Cheers
