"add to cart" button behaviour changed

    Since upgrading to 3.8.13.1 I’ve noticed that the “add to cart” buttons all across the site and in any context click/link through to the relevant product page while also updating the cart. Previously (and desired) the “add to cart” would simply update the Ajax cart/basket in the website widget, but otherwise stay on that current page.

    Has this behaviour been dropped, is it a bug or what else can I do to get it back?
