Add to Any is lacking pivotal component to sharing (2 posts)

The 'Add To Any' plug-in allows a reader to share (to twitter, facebook, digg, etc.)... but it doesn't allow an admin to customize what is shared, and that's a major bummer.

For instance, if a reader goes to share a post to twitter, I want to be able (on a post by post basis) to have a customized message populate their twitter post. The user would then be able to edit this, but at least it would default to a marketing message written by the WordPress admin.

Or how about Facebook... if a reader goes to share on Facebook, the "What is on your mind?" field is left blank. It would be great to be able to have that populated with a customized message, which again, the user would be able to edit if they so desired.

Can anyone help with this? Or potentially point me in the right direction so that we can implement something like this?

    Hi there,

You can customize the Twitter message, but Facebook doesn't allow publishers or 3rd parties to set a template message.

To customize the Twitter message, read here first:
    http://www.addtoany.com/buttons/customize/twitter_message

After modifying the example code to your liking, place it in Settings > Share/Save Buttons > Additional Options, and save your changes.

    Cheers,
    Pat
