Add special attributes to most recent post? (1 post)

    Hi there -

    I'm trying to figure out how to conditionally add special attributes (rel, id's) to the most recent post on the index page.
    I'd really like to do it via functions.php.
    I want to display the images attached to the first post as a slideshow.

    Can anyone point me in the right direction?
