[resolved] Add space between RSS feed entries (9 posts)

    Hello. I administrate a site run on a multi-site platform: http://german.berkeley.edu/

    The entries in our "Upcoming" RSS feed (WordPress standard RSS widget) all appear to run together because there is nothing separating them. I would like to either add extra space between the entries or have the entries appear as a bulleted list. The Weaver II theme is set to show bullets (black disc), but they don't show up here. Bullets would be OK, but I think adding some padding between entries would be an ideal solution to this clump of text.

    If it matters, I only have access to the site's child theme style.css and don't have access to other files in the main server.

    I would appreciate your help!

    In future try to avoid bumping your thread.

    You temporarily and unfairly gain advantage over other threads; but once your thread leaves the first page your thread is unlikely to be found again.

    Threads with no replies are monitored by volunteers visiting the no-replies list. Volunteers often prioritise these threads over other threads that have no answers. By bumping your thread you are replying to it and therefore removing yourself from the no-replies list.

    Have you seen:

    You might also try the Weaver theme's dedicated forums - the developer is quite committed to supporting it.

    Just reread you post, sorry. You're asking about the widget - the problem is this CSS in the theme:

    .widget_rss ul {
        list-style-type: none !important;
    }

    Hi Andrew,
    I have no idea what "bumping your thread" means. I am merely desperate for help. Everyone in my department is complaining about how terrible the calendar feed looks, and I can't figure out how to fix it. I just assume that if nobody responds in the support forum, my query gets buried for eternity with all the other queries that get no response, and I can't let this issue die.

    Thanks, WPyogi. I have looked at the codex, but it doesn't help me because I don't have access to any of the php files for RSS. Because I am not the top-level administrator, the only page I am allowed to make changes to is the child theme style.css file. Everything else must be done through the WordPress dashboard. (And our top-level administrator doesn't help with issues like this.)

    See my second post - it's CSS - a browser tool like Firebug will help you immensely with this kind of issue.

    Try this:

    .widget_rss ul li  {
        list-style-type: disc !important;
        margin-bottom: 10px;
    }

    Do check out the theme's dedicated support forum - they're excellent.

    That worked, WPyogi. Thank you so much for your help!
    I will be sure to go to the Weaver II support forum next time, too.
