Add some html to left hand side of page

    I have a 2 column layout with the theme Twenty Ten.
    I would like to add some text/HTML right on the left hand side, which I don;t think is part of the columns.
    In what file should I add this?

    Adding additional column to an already fixed 2-columns layout theme requires editing some files. Not only that, you have to adjust the CSS attributs in style.css. It should be easy if you know how the whole thing works. Otherwise, it can mess up your blog pretty easily.

    I guess, the easier choice is using 3-columns ready theme. There are a lot of theme that has 3-columns layout.
