    Hi all, I want to add a sidebar to the single post. Right now, the sidebar only shows up on the Home page. I tried the following:

    <div id=”content” class=”widecolumn”>

    Change it to:

    <div id=”content” class=”narrowcolumn”>

    Now at the very bottom of the editor add get sidebar:

    old code:

    </div>

    <?php get_footer(); ?>

    new code:

    </div>

    <?php get_sidebar(); ?>

    <?php get_footer(); ?>

    But then I got a error message, 500. I heard something about permissions on another blog. Do I need to change the permissions? Does anyone know how to do that in GoDaddy?

    hmmm. sorry not had any experience with godaddy, perhaps try calling the sidebar in the header.php, put it in as the last line in the file.
    worked for me when i was having loading issues, this way whenever your header is present so will your sidebar.
    probably not the best way to do it, but works for me.
    good luck

    call the sidebar.php file inside the content div of your site. Your css deals with making it an actual sidebar.

    Just look at the code in index.php and compare it to page.php. They should be similar

    When I called the sidebar on the single.php it worked but somehow it continues to trigger server error 500, I don't know what is causing the server error
