I want to add a Google gadget script above the blog post loop on the front page.
I don't really want to add it as a sticky post as it would then have categories and tags.
I'd also like the gadget to be centred.
What is the best way to do it?

To add it to the template file for the front page before the loop, probably called index.php in your themes folder.
