Add excerpt view for pages in admin

In the posts admin page, in the upper-right hand corner, you can switch to excerpt mode, where you can see snippets of the posts right there on the screen. However, this doesn’t work for pages.

I realize that without a plugin or hack, pages don’t have excerpts, but it would still be nice to see the beginning of the content on the admin page that lists all pages.

Also, you can register a custom post type, and even if that post type allows excerpts, if it’s heierarchical then excerpt view is not available.
