Add Custom Fields To "Write" Page (4 posts)

I currently want to add a custom field to my "write post" page to allow authors to put an "advertisement" below the article. Using HTML is a problem because there's no way to enforce any rules, nor position the ad the way I want.

Is there a way to add a custom field to the write page and give it a variable so that I can customize its output in the template?

If you mean the Custom Fields that come with WordPress, you have to call them with the_meta in your post template. The simplest way to control that is to wrap your call to the_meta in a <div> and style it using your stylesheet.

I want the SAME custom field to appear every time.

For instance, I want something at the bottom that would say:

Advertisement: (and then have a box where they would put their ad in)
