add chat room java script to a page (3 posts)

    Im trying to add java script to a new page-- its a parachat chat software

    i want it to show the chat room when the page is selected from the top menu bar--all i get is the code--is this possible?

    It sounds like you're trying to add the javascript to the Visual tab of the Editor if the page is displaying the code rather than the chat box.

    Try inserting the javascript on the Text tab of the Editor so that WordPress recognizes it is code and not text.

    If the chat script you're using requires a library in addition to the code for displaying the chat box, take a look a the Codex article for wp_enqueue_script for the correct way to include the chat script's library on your site.

    It may also need its own CSS. There is an also an wp_enqueue_style for that.

    thanks i got it--it was just a matter of putting the code in the text tab of the new page form--it works nicely--
