add blog to site?

    OKAY!!

    I have spent a couple of weeks making the wordpress site act and run like a regular website. NOW i cannot figure out how to add a weblog to integrate with it.

    i have a link to a weblog, but where is the weblog? it is a link to one of the posts? AAAH

    how do i get to the weblog main page?

    I have gone to:

    setting
    reading settings

    Front page displays: A static page
    Posts page: Weblog

    and it sort of works, but not like if it were on the front page. doesn’t have summary or side bar?

    cannot get side bar for weblog. i might have changed the page.php file. but do not remember.

    If you want your blog posts to show on the main page of your site, go into your WordPress admin and then Settings -> Reading. Under “Front page displays“, select “Your latest posts”.

    If you want a separate page to show your blog, then first create a PAGE (let’s call it “BLOG” or something, and let’s say the Permalink URL is something like http://www.yoursite.com/blog ). Then go to Settings -> Reading and under “Front page displays“, select “A Static Page”. In the second dropdown, select your BLOG page.

    Now when you go to http://www.yoursite.com/blog, you should see your blog posts.

    no did not change it, noit sure which page it goes to, and i cannot create a page with a side bar now.

    are all my pages now using front-page.php?

    instead of page.php? i am not using the fullwidth.php at all.

    Only your site’s front page (as designated in Settings -> Reading) will use your theme’s front-page.php template file.

    I kind of worked it out, but your replies verified my findings.

    Issue. the side bar for the weblog page is in the footer?

    this is not a permanent link for the website, just working it up for the people then I will try and movie it to theirs. that’s another task.

    issue is side bar in footer…
