I think you are misunderstanding what I need if you go to the wordpress link on my site simoastreats.biz/info u see the home link to the left of the seach bar under the Makshift logo(till i get ours in the right size) how do i add a button next to it looking just like that but have it say amazon webstore and link in a pop up to the amazon webstore. THANKS IN ADVANCE.

I didn’t misunderstand at all. Have a look at that plugin.

I installed the plugin. Where would i edit the text and url info?

Perhaps simoastreats doesn’t know about creating and using a custom menu (WPDashboard: Appearance>Menus)? Just create a new menu and then set your Theme to use that menu–all this is done right there. You can easily create/add a custom menu item (i.e., “Custom Links”) that points to where you want it to also (say your Amazon store), and then just order the menu (i.e., drag menu items around over on the right) so that the new custom button/url “comes before” your Home link.

    That even close?…

Thanks that plugin worked but still not what I wanted. Like I said before you see the home button I want a button next to that how do I add buttons over there?

A custom menu may be rather a lot to maintain when all that is needed is, effectively, a redirect (which is what the plugin does).

I dont want to edit anything in the right side bar but instead ad things to the top bar next to the search bar next to the HOME button

I want another button next to the home button how do I add buttons to that empty bar???

    Thanks everyone for your responses

Yep that’s exactly what I was talking about….How to add a button to the left or right of your Home button that points to where you want it to. Give it a try. It’s easy.

And when I said “over on the right” I was talking about rearranging menu items on the Appearance>Menus page in the WPDashboard!

Thanks wow so much easier then I thought lol but one more thing how can i get it to pop in a new window or is that asking to much.

    Thanks docM

When you are editing the menu…Look above and click on Screen Options. There you will see “Link Target”…check that. After you add the Custom Link, you will now have a new option below to choose opening the link in a new tab/window.
