Support » Networking WordPress » Add another blog already existing

  • Hi there, I need to do something that I can’t find in any guide.

    I have two blogs on two different websites.

    Now I need to move the second one into the first one.

    In the first one I upload every file (and the blog too) not in the root directory but in …/public_html folder.

    I’ve already done a backup of my second blog, which I have on my computer, along with a database backup done with phpmyadmin.

    What I have to do now?

    I’ve already tried one time but it didn’t work. I have a couple of doubts mainly regarding the database and the correct directory (because I have, of course, to install the second blog in a subfolder of my domain).

    Thank you so much!

    I’m sorry if I’ve missed a topic with my answer; in that case just point it out!

    If you want to use Multisite, you would turn multisite on for the first site, make a second blog on the network for your second site, and import the content.

    Thank you!

    I added this line:

    define(‘WP_ALLOW_MULTISITE’, true);

    to the wp-config.php and replaced it on my host, but nothing about network showed up in my tool menu…

    what did I do wrong?!

    Maybe, the fact that I’m using 000webhost does cause the problem?
    my website has this form: mydomain.50site.net

    It should work, but you may want to ask 000webhost if they permit Multisite. Some hosts don’t.
