• In the Add an Image “From URL” screen, there is a “Link Image To:” field, which is great. Could someone please add a target menu to this that’s similar to the functionality of the “Insert/edit link” tool? It’s annoying to have to go into code view to add target=”_blank” to images I’ve dropped in with the Add an Image tool. Thanks!

I believe there’s a plugin called Image Manager that can do that.

many folks use xhtml doctype on their themes. target=_blank is invalid code, so why have a core function in wordpress which inserts invalid code?

If that’s the logic for not having it for “Add an image,” then why does the “Insert/edit link” tool have it?

Hmm… yeah, so it does. Guess I only read half your post!

I only know why some folks wouldn’t want it there, but I can’t explain inconsistencies in application!

Probably because no one on dev uses it so no one noticed?

    Trac time! 😉
