[resolved] Add a listing page as child of main classified page? (7 posts)

    Hi

I tried to post this on the support forum on your site but could not which is why I am posting it here.

I would like the "add a listing" page to show as a drop down on the menu to the main Classifieds page. I set the "add a listing" page as the child of the main Classifieds page and thought this would work. I did not change the permalink. However, when I click on "add a listing", the upload form does not appear, just a blank page.

Is there a way around this?

are you saying you are trying to place the add a listing page in a custom menu as a sub-menu link ??

does the upload form appear when click the add-a-page link in the classyfrieds menu (above the search-box ) ?

do you have a link to your site ?

May I presume you have seen and rechecked the classyfrieds -> classyfrieds menu page where the 2 page urls for the page hi-jacking are set ?

Yes, I am trying to place the "add a listing" page in a custom menu as a sub-menu link. I also set the page URLs for the page hi-jacking to pages that already existed - Classified Ads and Place an Ad.

Everything works fine and the upload form appears when I click on "Add a listing" above the search box.

The problem arises when I set the "Classified Ads" page as a parent of the "Place an Ad" page. Here is the URL to the site : / so you can see what I mean.

    Regards

    Pauline,

from what I can see I am pretty sure this is not a plugin problem but a permalink and/or page-naming issue. Whatever it is it should be simple to resolve.

If you hit the re-initialize button in the classyfrieds admin panel (bottom right) and revisit the admin->classyfrieds->classyfrieds page does everything work ?

If you want me to I can take a look at your admin panel and see what the problem is. (send me a PM at via4321 at gmail .com )
Version 3.7 will also have a troubleshooting box built in that you can send to me, but you'll have to wait 1 or 2 more days before v 3.7 is available to the public.

    Pauline,

I've looked at your site with the credentials you provided. You were trying to create sub-menu's by creating sub-pages.

In order to create menu's wordpress has a built in function in the appearance->menu section. It's THERE where you create menus. By sliding a menu option to the right it becomes a sub-menu item of the one above it.

    check your appearance->menu

your problem is solved, but this has nothing to do with the classyfrieds plugin.

    regards,
    Pete
