[resolved] Ad King Pro plugin help in Magazine Premium (9 posts)

    Hello,

I added the Ad King Pro plugin so I could make my own ads as images and then link them up easily to web urls and it would keep track and give me a record for my customers. The problem is I don’t seem to be able to add the code:

    5. Within the WYSIWYG editor, place the short code ‘[adkingpro]‘ or within the code, <?php do_shortcode(‘[adkingpro']); ?>

I’ve tried both ways and all that shows up is the “advertisement” block on Magazine Premium (1.1.9)

Anyone else use this plugin or another successfully with Magazine Premium that is easy to use images (PNG, GIF, etc) and gives good reports?

    Here is my site westbendnews.net
and right now I’m using google adsense and I would like to get away from that.

    thanks,
    Bryce

    Hi Bryce,

Sorry for the delay in reply.

Are you trying to use this in conjunction with another plugin or just the themes pages?

Are you able to provide a screenshot of your admin where you have added the advert, a screenshot of the code where you have inserted the advert and a screenshot of its current output?

    Bryce,

Sorry, I should have checked your site prior to commenting. I see where you have inserted the code... It would seem that you are trying to render php code in the widget which doesn't work.

There are plugins that allow you to render php code in widgets if that helps.

Alternatively, I will be releasing a update (in a few hours) that includes a widget that you can drag in and have the options to choose from in a dropdown.

Also, be sure to assign your advert to an advert type for it to display ;)

Okay Thanks. I upgraded and now the page won't load. I have an error in the log:
[24-Jun-2013 15:46:19] PHP Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_FUNCTION in /home2/westben1/public_html/autonews/wp-content/plugins/adkingpro/includes/widget.php on line 68

Hostmonster support disabled the plug in and it started working again. Should I not have upgraded to both the wordpress and plugin?

    thanks for the help,
    Bryce

    Bryce,

Installing 1.4.1 will work (You may receive a notice of unexpected output when activating the plugin, this will be rectified in the next update, it will not prevent the plugin from working).

Please let me know if you run into any further issues.

    Cheers,

    Ash
