Activating Sidebar Widgets

    When I activate the Automatic sidebar widgets I am getting the following error and really do not understand this in full so any and all assistance is appreciated, suggestions of fixing .

    Cannot redeclare register_sidebars() (previously declared in /home/michaelb/public_html/wp-includes/widgets.php:15) in /home/michaelb/public_html/wp-content/plugins/widgets/widgets.php on line 22

    I am not sure how duplicate entries could be made, but thats why I am posting here also.

    You do NOT need the widgets plugin in your version. It is built-in. Deactivate/delete the widgest plugin.
