I’m writing on behalf of a large group of Italian teachers taking care of their respective schools’ websites within an 11-year-old project on web accessibility.
The first thing we noticed was that the buttons to insert acronyms and abbreviations are completely missing.
Secondly inserting and formatting tables has become very complicated (for example the tdalt option is missing).
Thirdly the plugin is not at all as user friendly as it was (toolbar toggle for example is beyond most people’s intuition) – the developers should remember that many editors are not xhtml or css experts, which is why we use Tiny MCE to start with!
I hope at least some of these issues will be tackled soon.

Toolbar toggle is an absolutely terrible idea since it is not documented on the settings page. If your buttons are not displaying when you update how are you supposed to know there is a button to show them?
And any settings for background colour etc in tables has gone.
