    Hi there
I haven't used my wordpress site for a while but it no longer recognises my username or email so I can't reset my password or access my site to edit it. I've had a look at the FTP access that I saw some people had suggested but I just can't work it out. I can see my site & see that wordpress is still active but it just doesn't recognise the email address I used to register it. Can anyone help me with a solution for a non-techno bod please?!

Have you tried this method that I suggested above? http://codex.wordpress.org/Resetting_Your_Password#Through_phpMyAdmin

    Hi Rajesh
thanks but as I mentioned in my original post I'm not a technical person & the references it makes are too complicated for me to follow. That probably sounds silly to someone more used to it but, unfortunately, building sites using wordpress is about my limit!

    Sign into your hosted account.
Find the database. You may see something like mySQLDatabase.
A list of databases will appear. Click your WordPress database.
All the tables in your database will appear. If not, click Structure. Look for wp_users. Click on the icon for browse. Locate your email under user_email. Compare that to what you were entering. If is is wrong in the database, you can correct it by going to edit and then save.

You should always back up the database before messing with it. If the above seems to complicated your hosts might do it for you.
