• My set up is as follows:

    1. Beaglebone Black, Rev C,
    2. 64gb microSD
    3. Nginx, PHP5, Mysql
    4. Static Pacbell.net address (yes, they used to give these out back in the late 20th century)
    5. WordPress 3.9.1
    6. jAlbum 12.1
    7. LinkSys/Cisco router

I have set up a local WordPress site at my 192.x.x.xxx, and works fine. I have changed the Settings, General, to point to the 63.x.x.xxx/ address, but when accessing from outside world, ie., internet, at this address, the site is slow to load, not rendered correctly, and the menu links are not working.

My question is: Has anyone successfully been able to do the above. I have read many, many threads, but have not actually seen a hard solution. Thanks in advance.

addendum…. I will add this: I can access a fully qualified URL from the outside world, ie., using the Pacbell static IP address.

That’s awesome you have a static IP. Sounds like you got it up and running, but certain things are breaking you say?

    1. Are you allowed to serve from port 80? Check with your ISP. Actually, check with them about everything before you try to set this up. It’ll probably save you some headaches.
    2. Not sure about the slowness, could be many things: your box, HDDs, RAM, how the page is coded, your ISP is throttling your connection, etc.
    3. What do you mean by, “not rendered correctly”?
    4. How are the menu links, “not working”?

My guess is the paths may not be resolving correctly and your ISP may have a flag on port 80. Not sure, since every rig is different. Good luck.
