accessing my wp-config.pho

I’m not very techy–please stay with me here!

Tried viewing my blog online and came up with a ‘error establishing database connection’ error instead.

Tried to log onto my dashboard and received ‘One or more database tables are unavailable. The database may need to be repaired.’

I click on ‘repaired’ and got ‘To allow use of this page to automatically repair database problems, please add the following line to your wp-config.php file. Once this line is added to your config, reload this page.
define(‘WP_ALLOW_REPAIR’, true);

So…my question is, how do I get access to my wp-config.php file if I can’t get to my dashboard and am uncertain about my Database name or host? {I don’t even know what version of wp I’m on…good grief.}
