I have setup a home server which works fine. I installed wordpress in a folder and set the word press links url to the local address, works fine. I recently changed the links url to its external address now when I try to access it using the local address it is trying to come back through the router hence I get the router page coming up.
Can I change to a local address in one of the php file to access when I am at home? Or is there another way?

  • I am guessing you are running your webserver software on port 80, so you could forward that port on your router to your PC. This way, you wouldn’t have to change it.

Can’t really tell you how to do that sadly, as there are millions of routers models out there. But you can always change your URL back via accessing the database itself.

Thanks for your help on this Snat much appreciated, I now have the problem sorted.
On my router there is a virtual server tab which allows me to set up Static DNS mapping so all I needed to do was

add the local address 192.168.1.7 and the arrow.dyn etc and after a router reboot it works fine.
