I have been have intermittent problems accessing http://www.barganews.com over the past few months ...at least once or twice a month the site becomes unavailable, not just to me but to everybody. It either strips out all the css and just puts up the content on a white page or gives a 403
error message saying that I do not have permission to access " You don't have permission to access /index.html on this server."I also run a forum on other servers with members across the globe ... who contact me when http://www.barganews.com does this no access trick so I know that it is not a local problem just on this system but is world wide.
It generally lasts 24 - 36 hours and then clears up without me doing anything but happens, as I have already said, once or twice a month.
I have reported this problem to support in the past but each time the site is checked they cannot replicate the error messages and the site seems to come up fine.
The problem is the barganews is a daily news site and many hours in the month it is dead in the water.
Is there any way that somebody could please look into this problem ?
thanks
this was the reply from support on my provider;
Dear barganews,
Many thanks for the screenshot.
Hoiwever, I cannot see any problems with the site. It would apear it is something to do with wordpress and its template sysem.
Both: http://barganews.com/index.html
&
http://barganews.com/index.phpWork fine, here and on the external network. My suggestion is to flush your DNS, follow these steps:
CLose all your browsers
Click start >> Then click run >> then type "CMD" then press the enter button, in the black box type:
ipconfig /flushdns and press enter.
Then close the dos prompt and visit the website. If this does not work, I would suggest speaking to WordPress for more assistance.
I apologise I cannot assist you further.
can anybody please help throw some light on this situation ?
ciao
