   I activated one of the design templates fro my website and now the edit function appears on website - HELP!

   That's perfectly normal. You can only see it if you are logged in and have editing privileges.

   ddddduh! Thank you! Still finding my way around as is probably obvious:-)
   One more thing, I'm wanting to put an image in the left column/sidebar - is there any way to do this: http://dharmaoceancanada.org/.

   Feel free to make any other suggestions, recommendations.

   The easiest way to add an image to that sidebar is to add a Text widget to the sidebar via Appearance/Widgets and then paste the HTML code for your image into the Text widget.

   I'm having a problem with inserting the right HTML code - HTML is not my first language...
