    Hi,

I am running WordPress on my own server. When I try to input the keys, I get the following error:
AWS Request Failed, please check keys – Error Message: Request has expired. Timestamp date is 2013-01-07T19:29:14Z.

Any idea why this could be happening? Could it be a firewall configuration issue – I do have ports 80 and 443 open.

    Hi,

It could be that the time or the timezone is incorrect on your server?

The time sent in the request is normalised to Universal Time (GMT), e.g. If you made a request at the time of this post it would be something like: 2013-01-08T12:28:02.000Z.

If you use the Amazon Scratchpad to run a test request using your API keys and Affiliate ID, click on the ‘Request’ TAB and check that the Timestamp there (last line of the ‘Name-Value Pairs’ box) is showing the same hour as the one returning in the ERROR message from the Plugin Settings page.

    Hope this helps,

    Paul

Ah-ha! You were right on target. I installed ntpd on the server and then everything got resolved.
