User Access Manager
[resolved] access for common visitors (10 posts)

Using Version 1.2.4.2 of UAM, I added access to several pages/post for specified groups only. But: If I do so, common visitors don't have read access to the whole site any more! How can I manage that only specified logged-in users can modify a page/post, but everyone - also non-logged-in-users - can view all pages/posts?

    Thanks, Seven

Hi please use the latest version 1.2.4.3 that should solve your problem.

I just updated, but the the problem is still there. Public visitors can't view any content, see here: http://www.d-f.cc/~retrieve/

I want that everyone can visit the whole website but only some groups can manage content of some posts/pages. Second part works but not that logged-out users views the content!?

Hm... this is hard to solve because I can't see your setup. Could you create an user with admin access?

I tried a subscriber based on the WP subscriber role and assigned it to one page. But if I am not logged in, I can't see that page. I want that a not logged-in guest can visit/see the whole site. I need the UAM only in the admin pannel to assigned user groups to several posts and pages.

You can log-in with 'admin' and 'welcome' as PW.

    Thanks, 7

I see now the problem, if the post has at least one group with setting Read access set to only group users the post it only accessible if the user is in the group, this also means the user must be logged in (because only registered user can be assigned to an user group). If you only assign groups with the setting Read access set to all, all public users can access these posts/pages. I hope now it's a little bit clearer.

Addition: Read access if for the frontend, Write access for the backend.

Ah I see! Much clearer now! :o) That information solved it.

    Thanks a lot, 7

Btw.: Best plugin I found for this!

I am having the exact same problem using version 1.2.5.0

I have a page with only one group assigned to it. The group has read access set to "All" but unregistered common visitors have no access to the page.

For clarity to admins it would be nice if each post/page could specifically set read access for non-logged in users
