This one is a bit odd. While I was still using the version 3.5.1 of WordPress, jQuery Colorbox used the titles of the photos as captions, as expected. But after the last WordPress update, I’ve noticed that it has started using the captions as captions. This was precisely the behavior I’d wished for initially… except that it isn’t rendering accented characters correctly. (It probably messes up umlauts too; I haven’t checked.)

I’ve tried several fixes to no avail. It seems, however, that the problem has to do with the plugin.

    Hi,
you may have noticed, I haven’t updated the plugin in many months.
Whatever changed in your setup, you should look there.

I set up a test with various umlauts (öüä éîå) and none are broken in the Colorbox.

    Cheers,

Thanks, Arne. I have another plugin interacting with your jQuery Colorbox plugin, and that one might be the culprit. I’ll follow that line and see what I can find.

    ¡Precisely! =)
There was a small bug within the code of the other plugin. Everything’s working fine now.

    Thanks again!
