Accents and special characters (3 posts)

    Recently I remember using the Advanced Toolbar to produce special characters and accented letters. A neat panel popped up and I could choose anything I wanted.

    I can't find it anymore.

    Was I hallucinating?

    To turn it on:
    Windows Firefox: Alt+Shift+V
    Windows Internet Explorer: Alt+V
    Mac OS X Firefox: Ctrl+V

    Many thanks 4k, it was the insert character thing I couldn't find (Omega symbol and/or anchor).

    I still have an ongoing problem, both with this feature and also link insertion, that I get the insertion pop-up appearing to input characters/links, but it stays blank. And then it freezes or crashes. Maybe a Java setting problem?

    Having said that, it works OK in IE.

    Any workaround on this problem?
