The ability to show different widgets in different contexts is absolutely a critical feature for any sophisticated website. There are a number of plugins out there that claim to do this, and I think I tested every single one of them. Widget Context is absolutely the best of the bunch! Why?
This is the only plugin where I gave me FULL control of where stuff appears. For example, I might have a page that shows a list of selected posts in a category, and I give the user the option to see the full category archive. I want the same widget to display in both places. None of the other plugins I evaluated was able to do this.
Similarly, I have a group of "pages" some of which are WordPress pages, others a custom post type that acts like a page. I can display the same widget across all of them. Again, nothing else I found could do this.
The secret is this plugin's option to specify where stuff appears by URL, which allows wildcard characters. Brilliant!
Just a great plugin! Thank you for creating it.
