Support » Localhost Installs » About WebMatrix, How you use it and Client Related Question

  • Greetings,

For the first time I am using WebMatrix to build a website locally for a client.

I have thought that building the website locally shall give me privacy advantages while the website won’t go online for indexing by Google or such services ’till it is ready.

But I never thought after that point. I was wondering how you present the client the nearly done website? Do you just copy the whole file structure into the hosting service and fire up the website?

Another question is for me about having problem with the theme’s support team. I have bought a theme which the client approved. And right now tweaking the theme in order to meet client’s needs. But whenever I post a question on the support forum, the team says that they need to see the website online and they can not give answers to my questions if it is locally built. It can sound like a newbie question, but I was wondering, is it possible to go online but not get indexed by Google or so. Is it possible to keep it private and password protected? On WordPress.com there was a Private option. But on WordPress.org there is not as far as I know it.

If you can share your solutions and thoughts I will be grateful. Thanks!
