Try going to Appearances > Menus and either update the existing menu or make a new one with the pages that you want displayed in your navigation.

Thank you for you suggestion. It appears I have remove the existing pages that point to “about” and hope that when I generate new pages they will not point to “about” again.
I am certainly confused: I can see how to add pages to the menus, but I do not know how to add menus to pages.
I somehow managed to have the first menu (the horizontal menu) added to my pages, but I am not sure how to add the secondary menu (the vertical menu). If I look at the information available in pages, I can only set the parent, template and featured image. I would think there is another “handle” that allows for setting which menus I want for a certain page, but I do not know what that “handle” is.
I would appreciate it if you could also point me to a good manual for WP.
Thank you,
Paul
Once yo’ve made your menu, you can assign it to a location.
Primary Secondary or Subsidiary
here is some more info about this

Thank you – it is working as I wanted!
Now I have a new question: where can I read about modifying the page template?
Thank you,
Paul
The first thing you will need to do is make a child theme – Codex: Child theme
or use a CSS plugin such as this one http://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-custom-css/ or jetpack.
The answer to your question really depends on what kind of modification you want to do.
If it’s just a colour or margin change, then a CSS plugin would be useful, but if you want to modify the layout or the output of your page.php, then a child theme is easier.

Thank you! I will explore these options.
I really appreciate your help.
Paul
No worries.
If you have any other questions, it would be best to mark this thread as resolved and then just start a new one with your new question.
