A Woocommerce Widget to display products on another site? (6 posts)

I'm looking for a way to advertise some of my products (my site is a WooCommerce site) on another website I own. I used to have an Etsy shop and they have something called "shop minis" which is a gadget I was able to add to my blog to display some of my products. I'm basically looking for the same type of thing.

I assume the other site is also wordpress?

You could, of course, manually add the stuff with an ad rotator widget, but if you wanted to have it be a little more dynamic, it could be done using some web service calls between the two sites. I don't think there's anything out there like that which is specific to woocommerce.

what info do you want displayed on that site? all or just some of the product data?
I don't think there's anything out there to do this, but I don't think it would be too difficult for me create something like this.

I've never used etsy. Would you want all of your items to be displayed, or just some of them? In the sidebar like an ad, or full pages?

I'm actually posting this on behalf of a client of mine. Her shop is here: shop.dimpleprints.com and is using the WooCommerce plugin. Her other site is her blog here: dimpleprints.com and it is not a Woo site. I guess what she's wanting is like a widget that would display maybe a dozen small thumbnails of some of her featured products from her shop.

It sounds like there aren't any plugins right now that could do this? Maybe we're best off just doing an ad rotator for now.

You'd need to have two pieces to make this work. You'd need the web service on the woocommerce site - the json api plugin would work, and then you'd need the plugin on the other site that would be able to talk to that web service and store/display the info.

I could develop such a plugin for you if you think there would be a benefit of having something like that over using an ad rotator.

Let me talk to the client and I'll see what they think. I'll let you know if they want to work with you on a custom plugin. Thanks!

Just wondering if there is any update on this question? I have exactly the same need, albeit using WordPress multisite to display products across sites.
