  • I am desperately trying to get my blog entries to look like this – with some text at the top, media in the middle, and some more text below that.

Unfortunately, I cannot get this to happen unless I stretch the media out to the entire width of the blog to “push” the text down below it (here). If I don’t do that, I get this.

How do I push the text down without having to make the media the entire width of the blog? I don’t want the text to the right of the media.

    Hi,

Even stretching the media the entire width isn’t a guaranteed fix as it’ll be dependent on the template you’re using and the resolution of the viewer.

I’m not sure how you’re creating your blog post, but the quickest way to achieve this is using the Visual mode when writing a post in the WordPress Admin panel:

    1. type your text to go at the top of the post and then press Enter
    2. insert your image at this spot
    3. press Enter and type the text that needs to go below the image

The more elegant solution requires switching to HTML mode and adding either paragraph tags (<p> or </p>) or styling div tags around these three parts. But if the Visual mode works for this, there’s no harm in sticking with it.

    Hope that helps.
    Vaughan
