Is it possible to create a static page that shows particular posts? To explain - I want to create a static page that has an image and some text and then underneath the text I want to be able to see all the recent posts for a particular category.
I have tried creating a page and adding a link to the posts but they don't appear on the page.
    Thanks
    Tony

and possibly adapt this idea to the code of your theme:

Wow that looks a bit heavy? I'm new to WordPress no php expert so I will need some time to get my head around that!

I've just started using WordPress and found it relatively easy to build pages and posts. The problems crop up when you want to do something different then it seems you're into the realms of php and css files and that's a whole lot different from HTML which I'm used to.

So this is going to take some time :-(
    Thanks for those links
    Tony
