• Hi there

I’m using WP 2.0.5 as a CMS for a client and everything is set up nicely except for one headache – internal linking on the same page.

I had the RTE switched on (as that is how the client will use it) and I wanted to link from a list at the top of the page to the appropriate section.

As there no longer seems to be an anchor button in the RTE (I’m sure I remember one from before) I opened the HTML window from the RTE and typed in the anchor links using both ID and NAME to ensure the widest browser support – this is how I’d do it in a normal static page.

When I saved the page I found that WP had added the anchor links in all over the place on the page and had dumped the ID totally – just keeping the NAME part of the link.

I corrected this by disabling the RTE and doing it manually but I’d like to know if there’s a way of doing this via the RTE as otherwise my client will be unable to add any internal page links – which seems ridiculous.

    thanks in advance.
